Senior Adult Ministries

The J.O.Y Ministries seeks to glorify God as we minister to the senior adults of First Baptist Church and those in the Morehead City area. Our senior adults are an essential part of many ministries within our church. It is our goal to provide ministries for our senior adults to grow spiritually, to enjoy fellowship with one another, to serve others, and to gain more knowledge on topics of interest. Come and join us on this mission.

"Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come." Pslams 71:18 (NIV)

Day Trip to Ocracoke

Come and join us as we explore Ocracoke and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Dajio Restaurant. Check out their menu at www.dajiorestaurant.com. We will leave the church at 9am so we can catch the 10:30am ferry. We will have lunch around 1:15pm and afterwards we will visit the Ocracoke Lighthouse, the Ocracoke Preservation Society Museum and take a leisurely walk around the historic village. We will catch the 4:30pm ferry and should arrive back at the church around 7:45pm. There will be a minimum charge for gas and the ferry ride. Please sign up prior to September 1.

Please Note: The buses are full but you can still join us. You will need to make your own reservations on the ferry and still sign up so I can make lunch reservations.

NC Port & Lunch

Join us for a meaningful day as we visit the NC Port to learn about the vital work of the Seamen’s Service Center. Frank Jarman will provide a guided tour of the port and share how this ministry serves seafarers from around the world. During our visit, we will also pack hygiene bags that will be distributed to those working at sea. Following our time at the port, we will enjoy lunch together at a local restaurant. We will meet at the church at 10am and take the bus over to the Port. We hope you'll join us for this unique opportunity to learn, serve, and fellowship together! Please sign up before September 27.

A SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY

Homecheer

Our Homebound Ministry seeks to bring joy and encouragement to members of our congregation who are unable to attend regularly. Through intentional care and connection, we want each person to feel loved, valued, and a meaningful part of our church family.

“Homebound” includes those recuperating at home, living in assisted living or nursing facilities, or facing ongoing limitations that prevent regular participation in church or community activities.

Bringing joy, connection, and Christ’s love to every home.
