Youth 6th-12th Grade

The youth group at First Baptist is made up of youth in grades 6 - 12 who want to be known as followers of Jesus. Our goal is to help young people know Jesus in a personal, intimate relationship as Savior and Lord, and help them grow in that relationship.

We also have a desire to reach out to others with the love of Jesus Christ and provide a place where they are accepted, loved, nurtured, and cared for. There are many activities the youth are involved in such as summer camps, mission trips, concerts, fall retreats, etc.

Wednesday Nights

Missions + Living Out Your Faith

6:00–6:30 PM | Youth Handbells | Choir Room

Students in grades 6–12 are invited to participate in Youth Handbells.

No previous experience is necessary.

6:30–7:30 PM | Wednesday Nite Youth | Youth Suite

Wednesday nights focus on missions and service. We help students understand that being "on mission" isn't limited to taking a mission trip.

God has already placed them in mission fields—their schools, sports teams, after-school activities, neighborhoods, friend groups, and families.

Together we'll explore practical ways students can make an impact and live out their faith right where they are.

Sunday Nights

Sunday nights are where we dig deeper.

What happens on Sunday nights?

We start in the Youth Suite!

5:00 PM - Welcome

5:10 PM -Prayer, Worship and Bible Study

Around 6:30 PM - Supper

We head downstairs and share a meal together.

After Supper - Gym & Fellowship

Students have time to play, talk, and simply enjoy being together.

Students may be picked up beginning at 7:00 PM. Students who want to stay may use our flex pickup until 7:30 PM.

Student Leadership

Don't Wait to Serve

Students don't have to wait until they're adults to serve the church. We want them to discover their gifts and begin using them now!

Students can explore opportunities in:

Worship, Prayer, Sound, AV Slides, Missions, Service, Hospitality and Leadership

Students interested in worship can help choose songs, sing, play instruments, or help lead. Students interested in prayer can help maintain our Youth Prayer Board and Prayer Journal. We record prayer requests and answered prayers so that at the end of the year, we can look back and see the ways God has worked. Students interested in technology can learn our Youth Suite sound and presentation systems and eventually receive additional training to serve in other areas of the church. There's a place for every student to serve.
