The J.O.Y Ministries seeks to glorify God as we minister to the senior adults of First Baptist Church and those in the Morehead City area.  Our senior adults are an essential part of many ministries within our church.  It is our goal to provide ministries for our senior adults to grow spiritually, to enjoy fellowship with one another, to serve others, and to gain more knowledge on topics of interest.  Come and join us on this mission.

Fall/Winter 2025 Events

Tryon Palace & Lunch in New Bern - Tuesday, September 23
Join us as we travel to New Bern and visit Tryon Palace's 21 acres of gardens with a tour of the 1st & 2nd floors, cellar, and the Kitchen Office.  We will also visit the exhibits an museum galleries at the NC History Center and tour the Historic Dixon House.  We will have lunch at Lawson's on the Creek that is located in the History Center.  We will leave the church at 9am and should return around 4pm.  Cost (not including food) will be $25.  Click here to sign up online with your payment or sign up and pay in the office.  

Lunch in Oriental and More - Tuesday, October 14
Join us as travel to Oreintal, the "Sailing Capital of NC" for Lunch at the Brantley Village Restaurant.  We will check out the Oriental History Museum and Old Tater Barn Pickers Trading Post before heading back home.  We plan to leave the church 9am and should return around 4pm.  Click here to make your reservations before October 7 and please indicate if you will ride the bus.  Click here to see the menu at Brantley Village Restaurant.

Mike's Farm Christmas Lights and Dinner - Monday, November 24
Join us as we kick off the Christmas season with a delicious family style southen meal (4pm) and a hay ride (5:30pm) to see the beautiful Christmas Lights at Mike's Farm.  Cost for Seniors (56+) is $39 and for Adults (12-55) is $40.  We will leave the church at approximately 2pm and should returen around 8:30pm.  Click here to sign up to secure your seat on the bus.  You may pay online when you sign up or pay Carol in the church office.   

Joy Ministries Christmas Celebration - Saturday, December 6 from 2pm-4pm
Join us for Christmas Celebration in our Family Life Center from some great fellowship and food.  Mandy Pursley will lead us in some Christmas songs to help us get into the Christmas spirit.  Please bring your favorite finger foods to share with everyone.  We will provide the beverages.
